Clinical approach
Dr. Marceron’s approach is empathetic and client-centered and she uses evidence-based practices (such as CBT, ACT, and elements of DBT) tailored to meet the needs and interests of her clients. Dr. Marceron is active and engaged in her sessions and her personality is informal yet professional. Her clients describe her as approachable, non-judgemental, and warm. She focuses on helping her clients gain an understanding of and learn how to improve/cope with their symptoms such that their initial concerns no longer hold them back in personal goals. She finds the most success with clients who are willing to: try new things, consider new perspectives, take action on topics discussed in sessions, and provide feedback about what works well in the therapeutic work and what does not.
Dr. Marceron values collaborative work, meaning she values feedback in the therapeutic process and will make adjustments depending on what works well for you. Often, Dr. Marceron will work with her clients to identify “homework” to try outside of session. For example, if you discuss feeling dismissed by your partner, you and Dr. Marceron may come up with strategies for having a conversation with your partner about how you feel and what to ask for moving forward.
In her work with you, Dr. Marceron will pledge her empathy, honesty, and fidelity to be with you every step of the way.
Dr. Marceron believes therapy can be a helpful tool to cope with stressors, enhance relationship quality, reduce unpleasant psychological symptoms, and achieve life goals. She also believes that therapy can be helpful to enhance quality of life and help her clients reach their maximum potential!

Personal
Although Dr. Marceron works with clients with a range of concerns, Dr. Marceron specializes in working with high-achieving clients experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, depression, self-esteem issues, and adjustment challenges. Dr. Marceron has extensive experience working with college students, young adults, and parents in the perinatal period.
Dr. Marceron is passionate about working with clients who are dealing with change: creating change themselves or coping with external change outside of their control. Some of the greatest successes her clients have achieved include those involving significant life changes: starting a new job after feeling stuck in the wrong one, meeting their spouse after years of difficulty dating or in relationships, rediscovering their identity after becoming a new parent, adjusting to a significant move, going from “lost” to “found” after graduating college and entering adulthood, coping and creating meaning after the loss of a loved one, and coming to a greater understanding of themselves and their mental health.
Dr. Marceron lives in the North Shore of Chicago where she enjoys exploring everything the Chicagoland area has to offer, reading (and accumulating books more rapidly than she can finish), and spending time with her husband, two-year-old daughter, and golden retriever. Dr. Marceron relocated to the Chicago area after spending the majority of her life in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC.
